Happy Leap Day!

To celebrate leap day - I spent the day scrapping! I haven't spent a whole day like that in awhile and it was so nice. Fun!! Hope you got to do something special too.

Just finishing up some sample layouts for Feeling Scrappy's Sketch-apalooza Class. We have a great group of ladies taking the class which starts on Monday - so it is not to late if you are thinking about joining us. :) Here are a few sneak peaks of the Design Team's sample layouts. (Each sketch - 5 per week! - comes with several sample layouts)

So proud!

My son just passed Level 8 in ice skating. It is a goal he has been working towards and he was on cloud nine when he got his last badge! Now on to Free Skating :) It is really tough to get good pictures at the rink - horrible lighting and constant motion but I am posting a few here anyhow. Great job Jacob - I'm so proud of you!

Fun Challenge and Prize!

Our member of the month at Feeling Scrappy, Stacey Curry, is offering up a really fun challenge and a great prize!

Her challenge: Some of my favorite layouts have a few things on them: 1) Stitching/sewing or piercing 2) inked distressed edges 3) chipboard. So that is your oh so easy challenge - complete a layout with all three of the above mentioned items! If you complete the challenge and post it on Feeling Scrappy then you will get your name in a drawing this super fun scrapbook bag charm from Star Hitched Wagon! ( http://www.starhitchedwagon.com )

Here is the layout I completed for the challenge. It was really fun to try new things! Hope you will give it a try too!

Boys and Cars

What is it about boys and cars? When Jacob was little he loved all things with a motor - tractors, trains, planes and yes cars. Now that he is 12 he can't get enough of luxury sports cars - he especially loves corvettes. I am not sure where he gets it since we are not big car people! We went to the car show and needless to say the boys both loved it (Sam loves cars too but only because his big brother does.) Abbie and I say "boring!"

Chicken Scampi

Suzanne's blog challenge this week was to share a recipe that I am "famous" for - I wouldn't say I am famous for this but it is a recipe that my family requests often and it is an easy, tasty dinner to make so I thought I would share it with you! You can see a layout I made of this recipe for my Kitchen Keepsakes album below :)

Chicken Scampi

Chopped Garlic to taste (3 cloves or more)
1 cup chopped green onions
2 Tablespoons of butter
1 Tablespoon of olive oil
1 pkg. boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into pieces
Salt/Pepper to taste
Basil/Marjoram to taste (light)
1 pkg. sliced fresh mushrooms
1 can diced tomatoes
1/4 cup of lemon juice (or to taste)
1 Tablespoon of sugar (or to taste)

Saute garlic and onion in butter and oil until tender. Add chicken, salt, pepper and seasonings. Cook until chicken is done. Add everything else and simmer to mix flavors. Serve over rice. Enjoy!

A couple more layouts :)

Here are a few more of my recent layouts. The first one is from the Feeling Scrappy Paint Class. I did the multi-colored background with paint - really fun! The second one is from our Book of Us Challenge to be a "hometown tourist" and create a page about our cities.
I am working on some samples for Stacey's awesome Noteworthy Monograms Class. You don't want to miss this quick week long class! Stacey is an awesome designer and her project in this class is no exception. Hope to see you there! Go to www.feelingscrappy.com for all the details!
