Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head

Boy, are we getting the rain this week. Normally, I don't really mind it to much but my grass is getting to the jungle stage! Mind you - we had a beautiful weekend with plenty of time to mow. Anyone who has a teenage son will understand what happened next. On Friday night I reminded said teenager that he had to mow the lawn this weekend. Well - I got busy and did not remind him again and guess what did not get done. Right! So, we wait out the rain while our poor neighbors shake their heads at the state of my lawn.

The great thing about this rain is that when we get a few moments between drops and I am out walking the dog I see lot of beautiful opportunities for photos! Here are a few I was able to capture today. (You can click on them to see the full sized image.)

What are you seeing that is beautiful today? Take note :)

Unadorned

I spent the morning - not doing what I should be doing. Instead, I did what I wanted to be doing - what I needed to be doing. As I mentioned yesterday I am taking Ali Edwards 31 things writing class - my plan is to write everyday. I know all the writing will not find its way onto scrapbook pages during the class but I will be doing a few of them. Here is my first one - it is simple and unadorned. :)

The prompt was jewelry. I have done pages before about my jewelry and I thought this lack of jewelry was a more important story to tell. Here is the 6x12 page I created. (You can click on the photo it to get a closer look at the writting)

Now back to doing things I should be doing - like getting this house in order before the weekend. Hope you have a great day!

31 things

Today is the first day of a writing class I am taking by the talented Ali Edwards called 31 Things. It is all about recording the stories of our lives. The small everyday things that tell the biggest and best stories.

I hesitated to sign up for the course with so much going on this month - between out of town guests, kids activities and lots of scrapping already in process getting ready for Feeling Scrappy's sketch class I wasn't sure I would have time but in the end I could not resist. So glad I didn't - I already feel energized and excited about the 1st writing prompt today!

Anyone else doing something they are excited about today?
