I think these "Friday Fill ins" I have been seeing on a few blogs I follow are fun so I thought I would toss one in the mix. :)
1. My favorite food seasoning is garlic.
2. My daughter laughing when she is watching a movie is music to my ears.
3. Lucky is believing you are lucky!
4. Raising honest kids is something I take very seriously.
5. Many people made me smile today :).
6. A pair of jeans (3 sizes smaller then a year ago!) was the last thing I bought at the store.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Halloween and all that goes with it, tomorrow my plans include cleaning the house and giving the dog a bath and Sunday, I want to scrapbook!

This is a layout I did last year for my book of me. Just wanted to wish you all a happy Halloween and encourage you to take a quite moment today to remember back to when you were a kid and see what Halloween memories you can stir up.
The journaling on my layout reads:
"It is easy as an adult to get wrapped up in the “work” of Halloween. Making sure the kids have everything they need for their costumes, decorating the house, getting and carving pumpkins, planning and volunteering at the school Halloween parties, making sure I have enough candy for the trick-or-treaters, helping the kids get ready, our annual photo shoot and finally taking them out for the night. Sometimes it can be hard to fit everything in with our busy schedule! But today as I think about the Halloween to-do list, I am taking a minute to remember back to when Halloween was all about fun, magic and freedom.
I loved Halloween when I was a kid, much the way my kids do now! Every year, Billy Rebey and I would go trick-or-treating together. Some years, Connie and my mom would take us to different neighborhoods to see what kinds of candy they gave away – my mom likes to tell the story of how at one house I asked the lady not to put the treat in the sack because “my mom wants to know what I got” and some years we would run around Billy’s neighborhood in a frenzied race from house to house! I went as all sorts of things – a girl ghost, an old woman and an Indian squaw being the most memorable.
It was a day when you didn’t worry about someone snatching your kids, so sometimes Billy and I got to go by ourselves. What fun we had – it was such an adventure to be out after dark racing through the yards with our pillowcases! I can still hear the sound of leaves crunching under our feet and feel the cool air on my cheeks. When we had had our fill or our moms made us come home, we would dump out all our candy and sort through the treasures! Counting and sorting by type then picking out our favorites – mine was always Health candy bars and bull’s-eye caramels. Yum! Mom always wanted my butterfingers and Dad always had the snickers. We would eventually go to bed completely worn out from our excitement and running but also completely happy knowing there was a stash of candy waiting for us the next day!
I am happy I have children, because without them I am afraid there would not be much joy in Halloween but I am one of the lucky ones who can relive my childhood memories while I help my children make their own."

Tagged :)
The Rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you Shirley, Megan and Char
2. Post the rules on your blog (this is what you are now reading).
3. List 6 random things about yourself.
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up!
Here are six random things about me:
1.) When I was 10 years old I fell off my bike and fractured my arm. My mom didn't believe that it was that hurt so I didn't go to the Doctor until about a week later when someone at school bumped into it and it swelled up really big. (I still tease her about not taking me!)
2.) My husband has been living in Virginia since last June and I miss him. We hope to join him there by late December.
3.) I don't really like to swim. I know how to swim and used to love it when I was a kid but anymore - I just end up feeling wet and cold and I don't really enjoy it.
4.) I love to try new healthy recipes. Always on the hunt for things to add to our favorite list of dinners.
5.) I don't really like breakfast. I don't like to eat to early and prefer something lite.
6.) I really enjoy the world of blogging - like adding things to mine and keeping up with my favorites - friends and sometimes total strangers :)
Now I will tag: Becky, Kari Ann, Stacey C., Stacey L., Rachel, and Stacy K

Giggling Girls
Last night Abbie had her 3 closest friends over for a slumber party to celebrate her 10th birthday. You never heard so much giggling as I heard last night! Whew! I took them to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua then for pizza before heading home. After that they played the Wii for awhile and I made them a chocolate fondue which they were all wild about! Then I "settled" them down for some movies and told them they could stay up but had to keep the noise level down. They stayed up until 4:00 am! :faint: They had to much fun - I remember those days. Do you?
The Sketchapalooza Class starts tomorrow over at Feeling Scrappy! We have a great group of ladies taking the course - can't wait!!

They don't make 'em like they used to!
Last weekend when we where at the "Big Red Barn" pumpkin patch, Sam and I spotted this VW bus! Tell me - what other vehicle could get away with being painted in stripes and have it look completely "right"? We couldn't resist walking over and taking a peak inside and it was just as fantastic inside - a bright patchwork of color explosion! It sure made this VW lover smile and her son too!

Happy Birthday Abbie!
We took this photo outside of the Melting Pot before we went in for her birthday dinner. Isn't she beautiful? Yes - this is her mom talking! :)
And here she is getting ready to blog out her candles on the cake we baked together earlier in the day...
How can my baby girl be 10 years old? ::snivel:: I just can't believe it - time has flown by and I can't help but look back and think of the day she was born and how full my heart was when they laid her in my arms for the first time. She has been nothing short of a miracle in my life. She brings so much joy and happiness into my life every single day. I feel so extremely lucky to be her mom and to have the privilege of raising her! Happy Birthday my best girl - I love you!

Fondue - YUM!
Don is home for the weekend - so we are taking advantage with lots of family activities! Saturday we went to Abbie's soccer game, the pumpkin patch (I'll share photos soon) and Famous Dave for dinner. Today holds two more soccer games then we have 6:30 reservations at our favorite restaurant - the Melting Pot. The food is amazing but we also love that it takes a long time to eat so it gives you lots of opportunity to visit during dinner. We are all excited to go ~ We love it! Hope you are having a great Sunday!

Don't toss old clothes!
I made the following layout and card with my son's old shirt and a pair of jeans. Old clothes can make really cute accents on your pages :) Plus I saved the buttons from the shirt for a future layout and I have plenty of fabric left to do some more creating!

What's in a name?
I have used "Feeling Scrappy" as the name for this blog since I started it a few years ago but now that Feeling Scrappy has a blog all its own the focus of this blog will be strictly my ramblings :) Layouts, family stuff, random thoughts - you know the drill. Which leads me to the fact that I need a new name! I still want a connection to my other site - thus the use of some of the design features.
I am currently trying "See Jayne blog" on for size...a play on the old Dick and Jane books...but I am open to suggestions! Have anything good for me?
