The last day for Omaha schools was Friday. Needless to say my children are thrill! I, on the other hand, have mixed emotions. Part of me is excited too - I remember the feeling of the last day of school when the summer stretched out in front of you filled with the promise of days filled with nothing more than playing in the sun. I am excited for them! As an adult, I am trilled with the fact that we will not have to be so strict with a schedule, that we can sleep in a bit and stay up later.
But I am also always a little sad...the end of each school year is one more sign that my "babies" are growing up. I know something that they don't know - these carefree days of playing in the sun are all too short and will slip by faster than any of us would like. So my plan is to spend as much time as possible just playing with and watching my children play this summer and I will treasure every moment of it!

Jayne, I totally get what you're saying. Time just flies by much too fast!!
Jayne, I couldn't possibly relate more to what you're feeling! Sometimes I wish I could just bottle these days up for when I'm yearning for them later!
