Strawberry Pie

I was typing up a few recipes to share with one of my WW friends and I thought I would share this one here :) It is yummy and the serving size is large!

Strawberry Pie

4 cups strawberries, sliced
1 small box cook and serve sugar free vanilla pudding
1 small box sugar free strawberry jello
2 cups of water
Fat free cool whip

Spray a pie pan with cooking spray and spread sliced strawberries in the bottom of pan. Cook pudding as directed only use water instead of milk. Add jello to the pudding mixture and stir well to dissolve. Let glaze cool for 5 minutes before pouring over the strawberries. Chill for at least 4 hours then top with cool whip.

1/4 of the pie = 1.5 WW points

Enjoy!

5 things

Five things that made me happy today :)

1.)Seeing the bottom of the clothes hampers...all the laundry is washed, dried, folded and put away. At least until tonight!

2.) Enjoying my freshly planted flower pots all over the patio!

3.) Having a vacuum that really sucks! My last one you would have to go over and over and over the carpet - this one has some power baby - makes my job easier :)

4.) Leaves on our trees! Loved having trees this winter - love them even more now.

5.) Playing with new scrappy supplies!
:o),

A winning attitude

I snapped this picture of Abbie just before we left for her game. 4/09

Soccer season is in full swing here in Virginia. Abbie had an exciting game yesterday in the 95 degree heat. I am so proud of the way she plays - completely and fully engaged in the game. Hot? Tired? Sweaty? She could care less when there is soccer to be played! She is one tough girl out on that field and her dedication shows - she has only played two games with her new team and I can already hear her name being called from the sidelines and see the coaches watching her with excitement. With her attitude - she will always be a winner!

Happy Friday!

Here is another layout I completed during Feeling Scrappy's last Sketchapalooza class. It was fun to scrap this photo for my Book of Me album :)

Time for Friday Fill-ins!
1. Apparently there's some sort of everyone wants to come and visit us in May. Bring it on :)
2. LOVE a sunny day.
3. 2009 has been filled with changes so far.
4. I went to a scrapbook class in 1997 and that was it. I have been "hooked" ever since!
5. For too long I've been unhappy with the way I look.
6. I am not obsessed with paper; I am not!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to homemade pizzas out on the patio, tomorrow my plans include Sam's baseball game and some gardening and Sunday, I want to scrapbook (after Abbie's soccer game!)

Photo Hunt: Purple

This weeks Photo Hunt was purple. Looking through my files this is the first one I came across that said purple to me. I took this photo in Omaha after a spring storm. Just a hint of purple in the lilacs. They smalled SO good!

Join in the "hunt" with me! For now I am picking photos I have already taken but soon I hope to move to going on a hunt and taking a new photo for the challenge!

Rainbow

A small storm rolled through Richmond just as Abbie was finishing up soccer practice last night. On the drive home the sun was warring with the rain clouds, eventually they decided to share the sky. The photo above is what we saw when we pulled into our neighborhood - a beautiful rainbow. The end of which looked like it was aiming right at our home. Guess we really do have a "pot of gold" at the end! :o)

Virginia Layouts

A few more layouts to share with you. The first one is based on a sketch by yours truly and is a double page of the outside of our new home.

This second one is based in a sketch by Stacey Lokovic and includes all pictures from the trip I took to Virginia to visit Don and buy our house.

A rainy Monday...

Hello to the start of another week :) It is a rainy day here in Virginia today but looks like beautiful weather the rest of the week!

Today is the start of Feeling Scrappy's Blog Party to celebrate our second birthday, so I hope you will all stop by!

Now for some Manic Monday questions:
Describe to me your favorite lounging clothes. Depends on the season - winter sweats, t-shirt and sweatshirt jacket plus socks and slippers. Other seasons - Capri yoga pants and a t-shirt plus socks.
If you promised to never lie again in your lifetime, in what area would it be hardest to uphold the promise? The little white lie area would be the hardest. For the most part I am a very honest person but on occasion - so as not to hurt someones feelings I will tell a small lie - such as "We really enjoyed the casserole you sent over" when we really didn't. I would need to think of a clever way around it :)
Give a one word answer to the question "why is life worth living". People

Have a great day!

New Fridge!

I finally purchased a new refrigerator today! When we moved here, we brought our old fridge with us but it is white and the rest of our new appliances are stainless so when the movers where bringing everything in I decided to have them put it into the garage. Since January, we have been walking out to the garage to get whatever we need from the fridge. Yes it has been a pain but let me tell you that it has had its advantages! I have gotten a lot better about thinking about what I need and getting it all at once when I am cooking and the kids have stopped standing in front of the fridge with the door open saying "What is there to eat?"

That being said I am excitedly waiting for delivery of my brand new Electrolux counter-depth refrigerator with wave-touch controls!

Friday Fill-ins

A magnolia bloom on the tree outside my parents house - they small so good!

Heading to a crop today! :) But first my Friday Fill-ins...
1. Join me in making an effort to see the positive side of things.
2. Put a little creative juice in your day!
3. Happiness is a happy puppy.
4. Dazed and confused. (Those two words are like salt and pepper - no?)
5. I'm waiting for the scale to move again. (Been stuck for a couple months now)
6. The chocolate bunny on the kitchen counter is hard to resist.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to scrapbooking, tomorrow my plans include Abbie's soccer game at 8 am and then buying a new fridge and Sunday, I want to do some projects around the house and then get out and enjoy the warm sunny day!
Happy Friday!

Kitchen Keepsakes layouts

As some of you already know I have a "Kitchen Keepsakes" album where I record all kinds of things about our kitchen, cooking, meals and gatherings. I really love this album - it is so much fun to work on "non-event" pages and a nice departure from the normal family stuff. Here are two recent pages I made as samples for Feeling Scrappy's last sketch class.

I absolutely LOVE my new stove/microwave and though it deserved a page all its own (I so love Basic Grey's Mellow paper pack - one of my all time favorites! The colors are so rich and warm!) This was based on a sketch by me :)

This recipe is so yummy and great for Weight Watcher's! You can see the recipe here. This layout was based on a sketch by Amy Bell.

Tomorrow's Friday! :o)

Photo Hunt

While blog hopping - I somehow landed at this blog where they host a "photo hunt" Fun! So this weeks hunt (#157) is Triangle. The first thing that came to mind was this album cover from Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon (How is that for a blast from the past?!)

Then I realized you are suppose to use a photo you have taken or go and take one! LOL So here is another one I took on the beach in Florida just a week ago. I am hoping to go out looking for a shot when the next hunt is posted.
Let me know if you decide to join in :) Happy tax day! (At least it was for us this year since we got money back!)

Spring Layouts

Thought I would share a few layouts with you today :) This first one is based on a sketch by Stacey Lokovic. Using the sketch helped my page come together really fast - gotta love that! Abbie's next soccer season starts tonight!

I love this next layout! I loved this BG paper from the start but mostly because I love these photos of our tree back on Omaha. It was hard to leave that beautiful tree behind! Layout based on a sketch by Amy Bell :)
Thanks for looking :)

Back from Florida :)

We are back from our spring break trip to to visit my parents at their home in Mount Dora, Florida. The kids and I had a really nice time (unfortunately Don stayed home this time around) We spent lots of time visiting and playing :) I am sharing a few photos here to give you an idea of our trip but it was hard to narrow down (I, as usual, took tons of photos!)

Jacob spent lots of time hunting and catching lizards (he always lets them go right away) Here he is with his favorite kind:

We took the kids go-karting and they LOVED it! They have been wanting to go since they were little and I can't believe this is the first time they actually got to go. Here is Sam getting ready to take off:
We spent an afternoon at downtown Disney (Jacob stayed back at Nana's) Sam loved shopping at the Lego store and Abbie got a leather bracelet engraved with her name (spelled right!!)

We went to the beach a couple of times and had a great time as always! Each time we ate at a little beach bar with the deck right on the beach and yummy food and drinks. Here my mom and I are enjoying the bar:

I had a ball taking beautiful photos at the beach. Here is one of my favorites:

Abbie was in the water most of the time - here she is during a brief rest:

Sam - catching a wave:

Jacob search for critters - he loves the way the little clams dig down into the sand:

We went to Bok Tower Gardens and it was beautiful:

I again took lots of photos - here is one I really like :)

Oranges galore!

Last but not least - lots of pool play! Here is Abbie jumping in:

Thanks Mom and Dad for making our trip great! Love you both!!
